Enhanced senses, particularly vision and hearing. She can hear someone breathing from thirty feet away and pick up someone moving around from even further out; she can see clearly enough to aim at distances that should be impossible for even skilled snipers, and she's more limited by the accuracy of her own guns than by her aiming ability at long distances.

h i s t o r y

Faolan was the only daughter of a moderately well-known big game hunter who had moved to Kinshasa, Zaire (it was still Zaire then, at least) some years before her birth. Her mother took ill and died when she was small, and being raised by her father alone, she was something of a tomboy as a child - which was only made worse when her father decided she was old enough to learn how to shoot and handle guns.

And learn she did - a lot about guns, not only his preferred models but about anything else he had that she asked about, and eventually even some he didn't already have, but was willing to get ahold of if she asked nicely. He didn't see it as spoiling her (he was quite proud that she was such an apt student, in fact), and by the time she was legally an adult, she could pick up almost any type of gun (unless it was particularly exotic) and shoot it, take it apart, put it back together, clean it, fix it, whatever.

Though she shared her father's talent with guns, she didn't share his love of hunting, and as she left the nest to make her own way, she found herself settling into a rather different career path. At first she was just hanging around what might've been the wrong people and the wrong places, but one thing led to another, and she became involved in gun smuggling - just in time for the First Congo War to erupt in 1996.

Having issues with Mobutu's management of Zaire, it was perhaps only natural that Faolan chose to run guns for Kabila and the AFDL. However, Kabila's management after he took power sparked some doubts, and when Uganda and Rwanda turned against him, Faolan decided she wasn't really in the mood to watch the situation deteriorate further, so she made a run for it as the Second Congo War began.

After some wandering through the cities along the way, she's ended up in Johannesburg, settled down, and found a job working the counter and doing repairs at a dusty little gun dealership.

p e r s o n a l i t y

Faolan doesn't stand on ceremony and she doesn't make a big point out of manners - she comes across as very forthright and casual even when she's doing her utmost to show some respect. She thinks that respect shouldn't rely on etiquette to be expressed, and so while she doesn't go through the motions when speaking to others, she doesn't expect people to do it for her, either, and it's generally very easy to tell when she likes you and is just being casual, and when she thinks you suck and she wouldn't be polite to you if you paid her.

She neither expects the best nor the worst out of anything - what happens, happens, and she'd rather live in the moment and deal with it as it comes than waste her energy worrying about the future before it gets there. She's seen the good things in life, she's seen the bad things in life - neither of them seems to have left a great lasting impact on her.

For the most part, she treats others with the same level of respect they show to her, and she follows whatever path looks best for her at the moment, even if it might lead to trouble down the line.

After all, she enjoys the trouble, so why not?

Faolan's a touch on the tall side, with a nice figure that she's never been shy about flaunting. She has green eyes and medium length red hair, and she usually picks clothing that lets her show her stuff. She has a confident air and she's never been shy about getting up close; she's not exactly touchy-feely, but she's quite comfortable invading other people's personal bubbles, and rarely seems bothered when they enter hers. She is rarely, if ever, unarmed; she almost always carries concealed, but if the situation permits she might have a more visible gun on her as well - as much to draw attention from the less obvious weapon as anything else.
